Rutherford Ranches was established in 1948 and is owned by Mike G. and Florence Rutherford. The ranch is located at the edge of the hill country in Hays County near Buda, Texas. Our registered Angus cattle graze over 7,000 acres of native Texas grasses in the shadows of live oak trees.
Our Angus herd consists of 250 calving cows and 50 replacement females. The embryo transplant breeding program is headlined by 25 of the very best donor cows to be found anywhere in the country. Purebred Angus cows are used as our recipients and our natural calving females are A.I. bred to top performance bulls and followed by the most elite natural breeding sires we can acquire.
Presently we are planning our second Performance Angus Bull Sale and our Second Female Production Sale. In addition to our annual sales we always have cattle and embryos for sale private treaty.
